Advocacy. Reentry. Workforce Development. Creative Freedom.
The New Leaf Initiative FUND (TNLIF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2024. Informed by lived experience and driven by a commitment to justice, TNLIF supports people impacted by incarceration through advocacy, workforce development, reentry support, and the arts.
Our mission is to create pathways of dignity, opportunity, and healing for currently incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and those who have served long sentences. We believe that people are more than the worst moment of their lives, and that meaningful second chances require community, preparation, and systemic change.
Through The Rising, our advocacy initiative focused on youthful offenders, TNLIF brings together impacted individuals, families, advocates, artists, educators, and public leaders to elevate the voices of those incarcerated for crimes committed in their youth. We advocate for meaningful parole opportunities, age-appropriate sentencing reform, and policies that recognize rehabilitation, personal growth, and human potential.
Through Box Truck Basics (BTB), TNLIF supports workforce development for justice-involved individuals by creating practical pathways into the transportation and logistics industry. Our programming provides participants with industry knowledge, job readiness training, mentorship, and employment opportunities that promote long-term stability and economic mobility.
TNLIF also supports incarcerated artists by helping showcase their creative work, amplify their voices, and foster meaningful connections between people inside correctional facilities and the communities beyond them. We believe art serves as a powerful vehicle for healing, self-expression, advocacy, and transformation.
Through advocacy, education, workforce development, and community engagement, TNLIF is committed to expanding opportunities for people impacted by incarceration while promoting policies and programs that strengthen families, improve public safety, and support successful reintegration.
We believe in redemption, second chances, and the transformative power of human potential.
